Dirty Dozen bites the dust

Postby tx river rat » Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:03 am

The dang squirrels are eating up everything ,caught one in the attic and it had chewed up some wires ,thats it time to go to war.
So I built me a squirrel feeder , works for deer .

First took one of my archery targets , then built a stand in front of it for bird seed.
In the last three days 12 of the tree rats have bit the dust , nice and quite and good practice with my bow

Oh and there is an open season on the tree rats in this county

Fox squirrels? Squirrel stew? Mom was always happy when I brought in a squirrel. "Squirrel stew tomorrow!", she'd say.

I had the same problem with those tree rats and after using the air rifle they got wise to me. That's when I got some 1/2 inch hardware cloth and cut it to shape. Then stapled it to the openings they were going in and that stopped them.
A few tried to get threw that hardware cloth and a pellet stopped them from coming around the area. :D

Scores up to 28 for 28 . That one ACC arrow and HC bow is wearing them out.

Ron,
You do realize that as you kill them off more will just move in. I just hope you like fried squirrel.

Bob
Have folks that will take all I kill
after awhile you get them thinned out enough that they stay away for a year or so then back to thumping them.
