Rob and I took to the water today.

I don't know tha area well. The last time I was there, I could wade waist deep with the yak trailing behind me on its leash. This time, there was a s***load of current and quite deep- yet the recent waterline was about 5ft. higher than today's, so I'm really not sure what would be "normal" for it.

Me exploring a side channel:

This is another one of that side channel. It wasn't very wide but it was about 4ft. deep in the shallowest spot, with a thin layer of mud over a hard rock bottom.

A rock shelf jutting from the bank:

There were a lot of those shelves. The area was a mix of clay, sand, and lots and lots of rock. On the right side was smampy lower land, and on the left had a lot of 30-40ft. high bluffs. Evidence that there must have been a lot of water cutting through there at some time.

The right side was mostly posted and I really wanted to find a decent place to camp on the left, but nothing ideal located, yet.

I'm respectful of your abil9ity to stand and paddle. Where is this area?
