Thanks Richard. Yes, I've grown very fond of this boat as the build's progressed, so I think I'll hang onto her for awhile. :D

Just finished the second JEM Laker 14. She's undergone a bit of a colour scheme change from what I had in mind during the build..... I'm sure I'd be quicker with these builds if I didn't dither about details so much :D Anyway she's done and I hope to get her on the water soon :D :D

Hatch arrangement is finished and rod holder installed. She'll be on the water soon I hope :)

G'day Jack. 1/ The hatch cover will be held down by shock cord. The fittings for which are still to be attached to the deck. 2/ I'm in the habit of retaining the frames in these builds. Consequently frames 1 and 4 create a (theoretically) airtight chamber each end. I recall reading somewhere...

I'd endorse trying a massage treatment. I've had a back problem since I was about 20. I was working on a golf course and we'd gone out with the tractor and a high flat bed trailer to collect the bench seats from around the course to bring them in to repaint. They were sort of a heavy concrete...

Thanks fellas. Mike.... I just used a light gray, high gloss exterior enamel paint.....about three coats with plenty of drying/curing time between coats. Seems to stand up pretty well. I think our exterior enamel (oil based) paint is equivalent to porch paint in the U.S. (???)..... I might be...

I'll jump in here Bently, and put my 2 cents worth..... First of all........there's no such thing as a stupid question...... :D We all navigate the same learning steps.......just at different times. My approach is to sand the final epoxy coat with fine sand paper....about 120 - 180 grit.....by...
