    Perry's Bayou Skiff Build

I finally got her finished. Haven't been able to post due to computer problems but now able to thanks to my new phone. Posting a pic to make sure the size is ok. Someone please let me know and then I will resize and post the rest. Thanks P.S. I am getting an error message that says SORRY...

    Perry's Bayou Skiff Build

Thanks guys. I went with three layers 3 inches up the sides. There is lots of debate on whether or not the graphite increases slickness and strength or hardness and I'm not looking to open that can of worms, but I know one thing for sure... it looks darn good!

    Perry's Bayou Skiff Build

Well guys I've been back at it and making steady progress. Hope to post some new pics soon. I finished the inside and glassed the bottom and sides. As soon as I sand the glass on the bottom runners I'm gunna start covering the bottom with resin and graphite. How do I determine the height of the...

    Perry's Bayou Skiff Build

Hey gang... checking in here and of course I have questions. LOL Got the ribs glued in with epoxy. It was a little messy but much easier than I thought it would be. Had some screws ( drywall screws) break off while removing them from the oak bow stem. Other than that it went well. Due to the...

    Perry's Bayou Skiff Build

Now I'm totally confused. LOL In simple, first time builder, layman's terms... should I thin my epoxy for the saturation coat? And if so, what is the ratio of epoxy and hardener to acetone? When using epoxy to glue the ribs to the sides, should I add a thickener such as wood flour or...

    Perry's Bayou Skiff Build

I havn't sanded the sides, the epoxy on the ribs, or the bow stem which is already epoxied. Thought I would take her apart to do that since she is only screwed, but not glued, together. Should I saturate the areas of the sides where they connect to the transom and bow stem before screwing her...
