Re: New Boat For My Brother Rev TCF
Sidewall flair angle - I'm not skilled in boat design criterea enough to figure things like that out. I have acquired a computer program that will do that but I am just now trying to learn the program. The way I create and adjust rocker in my boats is to...
Couldn't wait, just had to paddle this baby. First thing right after Church ran home, changed my clothes loaded the Honey Bee and drove to the pond at my office. Turned around and drove right back home and got the paddle. When I got back to the pond I trollied her down to the water...
Re: New Boat For My Brother-TIME FOR VARNISH
Well, that's about it. Got the last coat on and the rigging on. Found 2 puddled spots that I will have to repair after she cures real good. New spray gun got ahead of me if you know what I mean. If the Lord is willing I will float her Monday or...
Re: New Boat For My Brother-10/24 WOOD WORK IS DONE
My problem with the resin not curing must have been another "fogger" incident. The stuff just wouldn't harden after a week of waiting. So a little elbow grease, vinegar, and acetone and off with the old and on with the new. Now I'm back on...
That is one sweet looking boat. I've seen a lot of posts asking about a flats boat, this thing should do everything. Wouldn't be hard to put a smal casting platform on it either.
I am 68 years old and this is my Bumble Bee. 16 feet long 33 inches wide. So stable I can stand in it.
Designed my own plans. 3 sheets of plywood and 3 gallons of epoxy, a lot of fun.
Re: New Boat For My Brother-10/24 WOOD WORK IS DONE
Got to have a Trolley when you fish the Red River.
I use 1/2 inch PVC for axel housing and 1/2 inch all thread for the axle. The PVC is held in place by pouring goopie around it. Nylon lock nuts stop a lot of heart break. I will cover...
Re: New Boat For My Brother-10/24 WOOD WORK IS DONE
Well . . . . . . . . . . . . . . all the hard work is done except for the finish sanding and coats.
I will probably float the Honey Bee Monday or Tuesday and locate the best seat location so I can rig the foot rests and seat mounting...
Re: New Boat For My Brother-10/22 AMOST THERE
Should have this Honey Bee in the water soon. Got a lot more finishing and rigging to do but it should go fast, after I do some fishing
Rear deck bracing and grab handle mounting support.
Rear deck mockup, not glued in place yet. Got...
Re: New Boat For My Brother-Starting on decks
Had some pretty nice weather today and yesterday so I got some work done.
Decided to cut in the front hatch and build the hatch shelf.
Nice size hole has appeared in the front deck. 11 inch X 16 inch hatch should allow good size camping items to...
Re: New Boat For My Brother-Starting on decks
Now that the front deck braces are in and dried I'm starting on the rubrails which I cut out of WRC 2X4X8'.
That means I can use my new toy, the adjustable angle guide to cut my long angels on the strips.
It really feathers the cut and I don't...
That is a very nice and clean build. Beautiful boat.
Take the kid fishing and your blessing will grow before your eyes. I've been fishing with my oldest boy for over 40 years and it is still a blessing.
Oh, yeah . . . . Fishermen don't lie, they just exaaaagggggeeeerrrrate a lot. And that's...
