Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

Your memory is getting faulty Jack! Sheridans have NEVER been made in anything other than. 20 caliber. Period!

Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

Sorry to be late to the party. Chuck re-did my password for me but I still couldn't make it work for several days. All fixed now----I hope! I'm better with airguns than computers. :? "---it does not have a "machined aluminum" receiver, rather it is either copper of bronze. The barrel is not...

    Finished My Boat Pistol

True----but a 16"-18" barrel is more efficient. 16" for an otherwise stock gun and 18" for a modded valve. For a .177 carbine I like the full 24" 1760 barrel with internal mods to boost horsepower. Max efficiency results from matching barrel length to valve output. FWIW---I was instrumental in...

Pellet Panic What to do. HELP

The Crosman 1377 is often available as 'rebuilt' or 'refurbished' from http://www.airgunsdaily.com/?utm_source ... dium=email as well as sites like Natchez & Mid-South for @ $30 + or -. Watch the site above for daily deals on airguns.

    Finished My Boat Pistol

Altho the 1322 barrel is NLA the 24" .22 cal. barrel from the 2260 rifle is readily bought from Crosman----enough for 2 10.25" barrels with a bit left over.

    Floating .22

Or you can get the cheap, bulk-pak imported Chinese junk from places like Horror Freight but they aren't very uniform dimensionally nor durable. Not for use in aluminum!

    Floating .22

Speaking only from my own experience (I was the culprit who suggested the Papoose to Piper in lieu of the much maligned AR-7) I've NEVER had a problem with the barrel loosening even in extended shooting sessions. Your mileage may vary.

    Stacking pellets

Piper 'dun gud' with his pellet stacking yarn but I have a real challenge for him. When I was in my early 20s I spent most afternoons after I got off of work 'hanging out' at my Uncle's gunsmith shop until time to go pick up my wife when she got off. A friend where I worked was another regular...

    Floating .22

That's how Jack can tell he scored a bullseye----if the rest of the donut remains intact is evidence that his shot passed cleanly through the hole! :D

    Floating .22

<Remington 575 Viper 22 Hyper Velocity> There is a good reason that ALL target grade .22 rimfire ammo is sub-sonic. All the velocity in or out of the world is useless if goes whistling past the target. A tossed rock that hits is far superior! Buy a selection of sub-sonic ammo (under @ 1,100...

Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

You'll have to pull the bolt to change the o-ring. Probably have to get it from Ron Sauls (see early part of this thread). To remove the bolt you'll have to remove the 2 screws holding the bolt adjustment ramp inside the breech on the LH side of the breech behind the loading trough. Once you...

Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

OK---fair enough----eyes get dimmer as we age. BUT----here's a thought------At 70 it's been many years since open sights were much more than a vague blur for me, but a peep aperture serves as a lens (remember 'pinhole' cameras a boy could make in magazines?) that reduces the number of blurs up...

Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

It's a 25 yard gun----put the Williams Sport Aperture peepsight on it and never look back! If you have a vision problem for which you must compensate with an optical sighting system then you do what you must, but putting high-power optics on a short range gun is superfluous otherwise! "Back in...

Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

Without other info it's difficult to pin down. The rocker safety production began in 1963 (beware of my memory!) and I don't recall when it ended but it must have been in the '80s or early '90s. The rear sight retention system on your gun came into use @ 1971. Serial numbering began in April of...

Sheridan Blue Streak 1972 , vintage , question

<Behind the rear sight between the breach there is a piece of hard rubber raised up over the barrel. What is that for?> That is a grip and cushion for the hand while the other hand operates the pump lever. <The sight looks like to me that it is pinned on. Any suggestions on how to remove this...
