    Modified JEM Crawdad SS&G

I've not used Rockite. My boats were built before JD let us know about ir. But, the first time I paddled through gobs of seaweed after adding graphite to the epoxy - WOW! It was so little added frag that I couldn't tell. Before, the boat stopped dead in between strokes; now it just glides on.

Very nice looking boat, Andy. Will you be installing a "mast step" to accomodate that Christmas tree?

    REINDEER? Mayyyyybe

Coal?? All I ever got was straw. Old . .... wet . . . straw. I think it had been in a stable, just recently. Coal, hmmm. I could heat my poor, barren garret if I had some coal. "wouldn't that be wonderful. Wonderful"!

    2018 season

Here, in Michigan, we call those kind of hunters "Detroit hunters". A semi-automatic rifle in one hand, and a bottle in the other. Scourge of the woods. I was still in high school, hunting with my Dad. Two does walked across in front of me. Law then was bucks only. I was watching them when...

    REINDEER? Mayyyyybe

Hoof prints near my kitchen window. More hoof prints near my car. Santa season rapidly approaching. Hmm. Putting this all together, I get a couple of scenarios. First, Michigan white tail deer - deer that are present here year round - are simply roaming the area in search of food. Not an...

Looks like a good fishing tool, Andy. Like you, I like the ventilatrd gullels. Handy to drain out water when the boat is rolled onto its sude. Also handy when lashing gear in place. Also, a very strong, light weight beam.

Tales from the Log of the Ruptured Duck

JOURNEY OF A NATION Our nation, the U.S.A., is on a journey - as are all other nations. Sometimes the paths are rocky, and uphill. At other periods, the paths are on nice ground and in the sunshine. Among nations, we like to think of her as the pride of the land. Here, there is more...

WHEN THE SANDHILL CRANE GOES WALKING

This morning, while taking a letter to the mailbox, i hear a few sandhill cranes overhead. A unique bird, the sandhills. When I was growing up around here, about 10 miles east of Lansing MI, there were no deer, coyotes, turkeys, eagles, or sandhill cranes. There were quail - the ones whose...

    SS STOCK POTS

One time on the river, I made egg drop soup. The other guys didn't realize how easy it was, and were quite impressed. With pre-planning, things get easier, ehh? When slicing the green onions, the soup tastes better if they're cut at a 45 degree angle rsther than straight across. ;-)

    SS STOCK POTS

Each kind of cooking method has capabilities and limitations. I avoid tomato dishes in my cast iron. I've heard thst 30 minute time loss figure, and never found it to be accurate. It seems pretty exaggerated. Even heavy stirring never seemed to delay it more than 10 minutes. Grabbing a...
