    To wet or not?

Ron, I can see the point for small punched holes, but you drilled holes for the tie wraps and water will not swell the wood enough to fill them. Even the punched holes will open up after the water evaporates. To me water is an enemy of wood and should only be used to raise the grain, not swell it.

    mosquitoes ( Swamp Angels )

You might want to try Avon Skin So Soft. I slept in a boat on the water and heard them buzzing, but they never landed. If you have ever been on the water at night in south louisiana shrimping they are terrible.

Ron, Why did you put all those stitches if you were worried about it looking bad with fillets? Now you will have those holes to fill.

    Pettit EasyPoxy

I used this on my latest build. I used Interlux before, but it showed brush marks and had to be sanded before the next coat. The above paint is pretty much the same as interlux, but it does not have to be sanded between coats and there are no brush marks when applied. (Love it) Also used West...

    Pine wood ?

You can use it, but I would imagine the boat will be heavy. If you plan to haul it around. I would fiberglass the whole boat though. Should be beautiful.

    Graphite Usage

I mix my first 2 coats at 20% graphite and add silica (silica makes it even harder) to thicken it even more so the graphite does not run down, especially on a boat with a vee. The 3rd coat gets mixed at 40% graphite only. Mix enough silica to make it thicker, but not to much so that it will be...

Re: Mill Creek Sea Island Sport Sit on Top These kayaks are mainly used in the marshes and inland saltwater bays, where no other boats can get too the reds. They will take rougher water (waves).
