    Paddle QUESTION...

Okay, following the "sit on the floor and measure up to the eye-level" method for the shaft, we came up with 34" for my son and 44" for me...added a 'fudge factor' then added the blades. Began on two 'primitive' style paddles...I'll try to get some pics up soon.

    What Works / What Don't

Hard and "slick" (but not due to graphite's lubricating properties, as the graphite is encapsulated and immovable). Aluminum powder, as mentioned, can be more durable, and just as "slick" providing the epoxy medium is equal to the graphite's. Will have to let you know. Still have about a day or...

Father & Son & "The Learning Curve"...

Hey...it's supposed to be HIS boat! He's coming along, too...more sure of himself, quicker to jump in, and quicker to speak his mind - "What if we do this?" "Will this work?" Oh, his Nanny (my Momma) gave him two cleats off and old runabout they junked...he's proud of those! I'll be off...

    bed liner instead of glass

Rhino liner will hold a block wall intact when an uncoated wall crumbles from equal amounts of explosives. Blow up a truck up with Rhino liner installed and the bed stays virtually intact. Google the videos. Military considered it for low level "armour".

    bed liner instead of glass

As far as strength, it'll be the same as or stronger than fibreglass. And, with some of the DIY kits the grit is separate, so you could probably leave that out for the exterior. Personally, I'd go interior only.

    It's All JDupre's fault

I wish...way too young for the BAR. That was Daddy's Corps! We did rig us up a blow-machine-gun (of sorts) with Daddy's air compressor and some kind of piping he had. I think it was a heating or cooling core outta some tank or something...buncha tubes welded trough discs that separated them.
