Thanks "Kayak Jack"...just a few more days after the rain clears out. Taken me almost 10 months to finally get this show on the road. On a limited income and seems like every time these past months i'd get ready to order my stuff my Truck would tear up, my electricity bill would jump, or one of...

    1/4" LAUAN $24 a Sheet?

Went Saturday to get Lauan @$12.02 a sheet. Loaded it on top of my Chevy Tahoe and strapped it down with 2 bungy cords and then tied some nylon cord over it from the back to the front bumper. Drove 45mph back to the house bout 8 miles away. Bout halfway back heard a loud bang bout like a...

    NEW BUILD QUESTION

I've got a fine toothed saw for cutting mouldings and a fine toothed blade for my jigsaw. Think i'll try both on some scraps and let ya'll know which one i went with. Am kind of a perfectionist and a damned neat freak so i'm gonna do this right or as right as i can. Will be wiping up any excess...

    Registration in Louisiana?

I think i'd go with no Registration. Seems like that's the concensus. I don't ever remember seeing any Letters or Numbers on a Pirogue anywhere over the years. I live bout 2 miles from Toledo Bend Reservoir and i see Game Wardens in town (Zwolle) pretty regular. Probably be a good idea to ask...

    Registration in Louisiana?

Called Department of Wildlife n' Fisherys and a lady told me i'd have to have my pirogue INSPECTED, TITLED, AND REGISTERED but have had several tell me ya didn't have to as long as it doesn't...

    Applying Filletts

Where can ya get those syringes and how big are they? And how many times ya think i'd have ta fill it up to do a 15 footer? Was thinking if i could find something to do the filetts with that came in something like a caulking cartridge probably wouldn't take but 3-4 tubes. Trying ta save some...

    Applying Filletts

Have finally gotten all my materials and tools together to build my UJ Pirogue. Gonna be 15' 6" by 26. Don't have a problem with the construction, fiberglassing, or finishing BUT seems like there's no neat nor easy way to apply the fillets. I was wondering, has anybody ever used "Liquid Nails"...

    New Build...Questions?

Filletting the seams like that sure sounds like the best way ta do it. Have read bout 4 different ways ta cut the stems and bout 4 different angles. Think i'm gonna rip a 2x4 down ta 2x3 and then put a 17 1/2* cut on each side(35*). Seems like anything more than that would be a little too much...
