Nice shot, nice framing. You should call it "Wish You Were Here."

Sorry Mick, ya gotta put those pretties back. They're catch and release only!

    Not My Build

This is not my boat or build, so I don't suppose it is really bragging. I thought some of y'all were meticuluous, but this sea kayak is amazing. Anyway - From Russ Leidy's bb I like the tape on the cut pieces. Without it, and with my attention to detail, I'd put a chevron in the middle...

    Pirogue bow fishing

Not like his lazy brother-in-law, Paddy O'Furniture, who just sits around in the sun all day.

    Stem question

I recall reading one set of instructions where the stem was cut to fit. Attach the sides to the middle form, install the transom, then work the bow until it looks right. Then trace the lines of the bow on cardboard, and cut the stem to fit. You can use a rope to pull the bow together, then...

    wood cutting tool of choice

Do you have a source for the drill? Growing up, Dad had one like that, with a wooden knob, and a wooden handle that could hold 2-3 bits. Everything I've seen so far has plastic. Thanks. Edit: Duh. I should think before I post. The same site you gave above has this...

    Wax

I've always heard cheesecloth or 0000 steel wool and mineral spirits. Uncle Sam had us use an industrial floor buffer, a cotton tee shirt, and warm water (GI Party). We cheated and had one of the women in the flight sit on the buffer for extra weight. Here's the word from the horse's mouth:

    Done.... Finally!

That is really sharp! Well done. Looking at the shine on the inside, I almost feel like I'd have to take my shoes off before coming aboard.

handmade or deja vu all over again

Man, that is an impressive tree. Yesterday, I stumbled across a wood worker store that actually stocked hardwoods. 1" Bald Cypress was $7/board foot. The only consolation was that 1" Cherry was $6.38/bf. They even had Sapele and Padauk at $9 & $18/bf. Interesting to see them after hearing...

Old Guy and a Bucket of Shrimp.

A fine story, and if it's not true we'll just call it a parable. Reminds me of Jimmy Buffett's "He Went to Paris".

Obama Finds Legal Way Around The 2nd Amendment And Uses It.

Same old Same old He's pulling the same stunt on the Anti-Counterfeit Trade Agreement. Everyone's against counterfeiting, right? Except that ACTA has almost nothing to do with counterfeiting, and a lot about Hollywood limiting what you can do with something you've purchased. The provisions...

    Luck of the Irish

Six retired Irishmen were playing poker in O'Leary's apartment when Paddy Murphy loses £500 on a single hand, clutches his chest, and drops dead at the table. Showing respect for their fallen brother, the other five continue playing standing up. Michael O'Conner looks around and asks, "Oh, me...

handmade or deja vu all over again

Wow! At 80 rings per inch, does that mean thats a 1600 yr old, or an 800? (20" x 80 rings, is a ring a summer and winter?). Either way, that's pretty amazing. Please keep adding to this - it's really interesting.

I've GOT TO make one of these in the swamp

That was right gentlemanly of you to purposely mispell "retard". Kind of you to spare my feelings and all :D Sitting at a computer waiting for the daily status teleconference to begin. Let's have a meeting to figure out why things take so long.

Cutting bevels with a skil saw

Thanks. Skil makes all three kinds of saw. I didn't know it had become generic for a circular saw.

I've GOT TO make one of these in the swamp

Way cool. Can't wait to spring that one on my sons. Next time you're camping and have had a few beverages, try saying "Pickled Piper portably popped a peck of perfect popcorn" three times fast.

Be thankful, if you title it "Commercial Safety of Flight" or "FDA Approved" it is 10x at least.
