What lengths of each type of wood do you have? When I build my custom paddle I have a bunch of cherry and maple in long lengths for my handle and then I have a collection of exotic woods I plan to use on the paddles.

I do like the length of the paddle as well. So far it doesnt seem too heavy, but I havent done any all day paddles as of yet.

Put the finishing touches on the paddle tonight. First did some clean up sanding of the fiberglass resin and got things nice and smooth. The finished handle. Cant wait to give it a good work out this weekend trying to find some spotted trout, redfish or whiting.

The way my seat is positioned against the back brace, my feet rest upon the forward brace so I have already a built in foot brace to push off, so as of right now I dont have to add any other type of foot brace.
