On those plans they are showing the bottom edge of the sides cut at a arch to remove the rocker.
Why would you do that?

I have a set of UJ's Piro plans that I downloaded. The only issue I see is building the stems. I don't have access to a table saw, do have a compound miter saw, several different hand and power saws.
Does anyone have a workaround for building the stem?
My first thought was to cut 6-10...
