The only time I put any along a seam was in the chine location of a stich and tape pirogue, but only in short rows, spaced between my tie wires. I was in a hurry to pull the wires to tape the seams.
It worked great for that but I don’t feel like it had enough time to saturate into the wood. I was able to fip her over with out popping any loose in about half an hour, or so, without any wires in place.
When I ran my fillet with wood flower ( saw dust from my sander bag ) I used my regular nectar.
