1st let me say I have not tried theses but will later on , they just sounded good and this is a good place to keep the recipe.
It should satisfy the desire for bread and also offer a little kick when out camping.

The November 2011 Backpacker magazine has this in there for the baclpackers to cook.

Biscuits de Coconino....( A spicy breakfast treat )

1...1 1/2 cups biscuit mix
2...1/2 cup cornmeal
3...2/3 cup milk , from powder.
4...1 tsp chili powder
5...1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
6...1/4 cup diced green chilies

Stir 1st 4 ingredients together. Mix in cheese and green chilies.
Oil pan and spoon in the batter.
Cook until brown and flip.
Makes 8 biscuits.

They also had this and call it a Sinagua Salad. ( Protein , southwest style)
It makes me think more of a Baked Bean sandwich ( But with a twist ) which I do enjoy.

1...1 can black beans ( pre-drained and packed in a zip top bag)
2...1/4 cup diced green chilies
3...2 green onions , chopped
4...1 teaspoon ground cumin
5...2 limes
6...4 pitas

Dump beans into a bowl and stir in green chilies , onion and cumin.
Quarter limes and squeeze juice over the mixture.
Wrap in pitas and enjoy , serves two.
