The epoxy on the pirogue is curing, so I took "Old Blue" out for a few SET"s . I put in at the Bayou Corne bridge and paddled up the bayou. The bayou opens up from 100' wide to a bay about 700' wide. It narrows down again and goes past some pretty nice sized cypress.

I paddled a little further and the bayou squeezed down to less than 20' wide.

Definetly skinny water- had the paddle half in mud even with a low angle stroke.

Continued until my way was blocked by debris. Pulled over on a hard-to-find mud bank to stretch and have a little drink.

Temperature started pushng 90, so I headed back. Came across a few patches of lillies and a few flowers.

The dark spot inside the flower is a bee doing what bees do.

I'm getting more comfortable in the kayak. I still have to mind my balance though. The simple act of turning my head to the side to wipe the sweat off on my sleeve has to be done in a slow, controlled motion.I need to put some kind of pad under my heels and need some kind of back rest.

Nice morning's paddle.
