This hasn't happened
But I got to thinking about it . wondered how you would repair it
If you got a deep cut in the bottom graphite area how would you repair it
If nothing will stick to it and has anyone just put three or four coats of epoxy on without the graphite and did it work

When you get scratches in it or anything else then you repair it lust like when you made it and put it on.
One word of warning.... Sanding it is rather a messy job and you will want gloves , old clothes and a mask for breathing. The darn stuff gets on everything and takes a long time to sand down.

Sand the area , clean it with some acetone and then apply the graphite and epoxy. It does stick to itself. The epoxy is the glue and the graphite makes it slick. Same as putting on an extra few coats of epoxy but this mix is slippery where epoxy isn't.

You just have a bad time making anything else stick to it. Especially logs , stumps , rocks ,weeds , swimmers , gators , sea monsters or anything you might be paddling over.

TX Rat,

Do the acetone part outside in good ventilation. It explodes when exposed to a source of ignition such as pilot lights on furnaces or water heaters, matches, lit cigarettes, etc. Doesn't do your skin or lungs any good, either.

I sand it by hand with a bucket of water handy. dip the sanding block and paper in the water frequently.. There is no graphite dust problem and the paper lasts lot longer.
