I found a new friend this evening.

I had finished up with the machete on my ditches and was about to close the shed door when I spotted him watching me.

Now granted, I don't have the right lens for this stuff, and this shot was handheld, AND in my haste to make sure I got him before it got too dark- I painted him straight on with flash instead of bouncing it from the side... but even with all that, I don't think it came out too terribly bad.

Thanks. Background is not altered, BTW. It is out of focus grass, with whole photo turned 90 degrees for horizontal print.

Damn, Jack- I completly forgot that you were in Lansing. I was just up there visiting George in Durand. We went up to Bois Blanc Island and camped with little more than a tarp for 3 days. I wish I'd have remembered to get up with you.
