I took the South Wind for a paddle on Little River Thursday afternoon. I put in at Rope Mill Park near Woodstock, Ga. The park is just upstream of Interstate 575 and just before the river flows into Lake Allatoona. The lake is full now and that raises the level of this part of the river.

I paddled upstream about 1/2 mile to these little rapids. I tried to paddle up past them, but couldn't beat the current. So I turned around and went back down.

Rope Mill Park got its name because there used to be a mill there that made rope. This is part of the remains of the mill dam.

You could paddle all the way through here if it wasn't blocked by this logjam.

Part of one of the old mill buildings. There are several other foundations nearby.

I paddled on down to Cherokee Falls. I have shown y'all this waterfall before, but it has a bit more water now.

I paddled on down the lake a piece then turned around and went back to the truck. I probably paddled about 6 miles in all.
The South Wind 15-30 is a great canoe.
