Friend Keith called up the other night and said, "Let's go logging"
Guess he figured that, after last week's trip, things could only get better.

So we loaded up and set out again..........

Here's another shot of the barge

The usual lineup of critters showed

even saw some red flowers

first log coming up, it might be a keeper, that squared off end indicates that it's a chop log - cut about a hundred years ago and sank before it got to the mill

Here it is strapped to the barge, definitely a chop log. Square on the little end and axe cut on the big end. BTW, that's a friend on the other end, he's fifty feet away. This log is about 40" across has about 3000 bd/ft lumber in it. Definitely a keeper

Second log of the day is a drift log. It still has the root ball and the top. It's been in the water since before the loggers came through or they would have cut it.

Thank you, Mr. Tick. These pics and narratives are down right interesting. Even to a Texas boy, like me.

BTW, I have a big batch of dirty rice cookin' just now. Wish we could share a bowl.............. Maybe someday! 8)
