This day is the best excuse you will have for a year to do nothing but lay back in a hammock and sip your favorite beverage.
It's National Hammock Day on the 22nd of July.

Actually, now I'm curious about where and/or how to go about finding special days for various causes, events, etc.? Is there an index, or net site? Maybe, along with a National Hammock Day, there might also be a National Lemonade Day? Or maybe a National Adult Beverage Day?

And, who, besides Congress, is authorized to declare a National (fill in the blank) Day? Can we - as stalwart, upright, clean behind our ears, thrifty, honorable, and brave geezers - declare a special day?

Potential suggestions for special days: air mattress, rifle, canoe, bath soap, single malt scotch, air conditioner, breakfast sandwich, or savings account?
