I been down this river a million times. Funny how much you miss til you slow down a bit.

You hit the nail on the head. When I walk a "familiar" route that I've driven for years, I see houses that I never saw before. Driving, I'm busy watching out for tail lights, bumpers, and fenders. Walking, I have time to observe.

Same applies when switching from a motor boat into a paddle craft. "Where'd THAT tree come from?"

Work extra hard ta pick the rite times 'n make her outdoor trips fun (even if it means takin' Barbie along). That way, after she passes beyond the Dad-as-credit-card phase, she will come back with her pals ta show 'em how much fun there iz in a tent, a canoe, round a stickfire, etc.
