Yeah. Just get some that don't have too many of those football
shaped patches. Look at the edges too. Look for hollow spots. If
theres lots look at another piece. You might have to look awhile
but it's worth it. Don't do what I did. When you get it home, take it
inside. I left some in my pickup and it curled up like potato chips.

Darrells, fir marine ply is good stuff, but maybe a bit heavy. I used it on my pirogue the old school way-- glue, nails and paint. I probably overbuilt it some and it came out weighing about 60lbs.

It will develop surface splits or checks if not covered with fiberglass cloth and epoxy.
