questions about paint

I was wondering about a few different options for paint.

I want to spray my UJ pirogue like a car. Using Acrylic Urethane sprayed through a gun by air compressor. Priming first and sanding smooth, then spray the base with a clear in it. I was planning to use a flat dark green color as I am planning to use it for duck hunting. It will get beat up a little and I want a pretty durable paint.

Also thought about using an oil or latex based exterior paint and spraying on with and paint sprayer(not a wagner power painter, a commercial one). Can you put oil based paint over the epoxy? Does it need primer?

Any help is appreciated Thanks.

I have never tried it , I hope someone on here answers your question since a few of the guys have done that to there pirogues. If not then contact Uncle John and see what he can suggest.

I have used the flat Duck Boat paint on other boats I have had with good luck.

Chuck.
