Hi gents--

Sorry for the long absence. I had a rough patch at work to get through and it kept me out of the shop and my pirogue. Back at it now and will post pix soon.

Although I didn't arc the sideboards on this boat (I'm already thinking ahead to the next!), I ran across plans for a simple fairing tool in Wood magazine and thought I'd share it with the gang. Because of the extreme lengths we're dealing with, compared to the plan, I'm thinking the width should be expanded to at least two inches to avoid twisting.

If anybody tries this out before me, please post and let us know how it works out.

Your pal,
Ahab

i use nail and no string. the nails will go into the side boards where the chine and rub rails will go, so the nail holes want be a problem later. the stick itself can be 1/2 x 7/8 x 18 feet, it need to make a smooth arc, the size is secondary. later keith
