They're also called dovetail saws, Japaneese cabinet saws, and pull saws.
They have very thin blades and cut on the pull stroke instead of the push stroke.
Mine was made by IRWIN, and I found it at a Menard's here in Cedar Rapids.
I was able to get some nice fitting compound miters at the points where the end cuts met the center strips on my deck.
It's probably not a big deal Jack. I'd just never used one before, and was blown away by its ease of use, and resulting cuts. :wink:
You hold it in one hand and use the pressure of your index finger to bite into the wood. Mine is a total of 14" long including the 6" handle.

OK, I use Japanese saws for ripping and crosscutting. And, in an old Japanese carpenter's kit, I think I have a keyhole saw too.

I thought maybe you had found an inexpensive miter box to use for straight cuts.
