WEll...Got up early...got the Pirogue and all the fishng gear loaded in the new truck. Headed out to Little Grazssy lake my favorite place. Got almost there....pulled up to where I was putting in....DAMN :!: Forgot the paddles...SHE-UT  Too windy to take it out anyway  Oh well...got some good fishing in...didn't catch any but had some fine conversation with some deer hunters and some old time Catfisherman. Learned of some good places to go in the Mississippi River(not far from me) and what to use for bait(mud worms). Nice day...70 degrees. Getting up early again in the morning. Gonna try it again before the rain and snow come... KAHUNA

Friend Kahuna,

Last May I wuz on the Nantahala River. It wuz a mitey purty day. I wuz paddlin' wid some kayak fella I jest met. We stopped at Fereebee Park 'n I ate some sushi (sardines eat wid two sticks) 'n set there fer a while. Well, we put back on. I caught some eddies, made it past Delabar's Rock 'n wuz comin' up on Quarry Rapid when I realized I warnt wearin' a life saver. [$50 fine if Ranger Dan gits ya!]

That iz why I founded the paddlin' geezer canoe clud. We scheduled a heap a meetings, but so far we all fergot ta show up.

How far ta put in on the Big Muddy? The pichurs I seen look mitey purty. Ya ever read bout the fella who lost hiz girl 'n figgered the best thang wuz ta paddle the whole danged river? If ya Googlize ya kin find it. I dont think the fella me'n Lance picked from Knoxville ever made a web spot.....but I aint Googlized on him.

Lance's son Greg iz headed ta Atlas ta do some huntin'. He sez its on the southern tip a Illinois, but public schoolin' down here swapped geography 'n history fer socialism studies, so I dont reckon he knows where it is.

regards,

Yep we have Chicago hunters...Chi town is about 5 hours North of us. Most they do is shoot and drink... Big Muddy is down the road about 14 miles....some places about 5 minutes away.....IS Lances son Greg headed to Cairo Illinois?? Southern most tip about 50 miles South of me. I couldn't find a Atlas Illinois. http://www.ohwy.com/il/c/cairo.htm Cairo was a important place in the Civil War http://www.angelfire.com/wi/wisconsin42nd/cairo.html ALSO...this is where the Ohio and Mississippi River converge, The you can see it from Fort Defiance State Park in Cairo(good barb-q and fried belly sandwhiches(buffalo fish) THe Mississippi River is muddy and you can see the difference when the two meet.
