    I've seen some discussion of varnish in the pirogue section, about varnish not drying. So, what is the best type or brand do you use or recommend?

    mds, nice build. What type of varnish did you use? I redid some canoe paddles and boat oars last summer. I used Varathane Oil Based Spar Varnish, and in 90 degree temperature, they still took 2 weeks to dry.

    I like the idea of a vee bottom on a pirogue, but I'm not sure about the strength of a tumblehome when using a roof rack. What would be the best way to car top a Touring TV pirogue?
