A Fantastic Trip!

I spent a wonderful, warm, sunny day last Thursday floating and fishing the Aucilla and Wacissa rivers in north Florida.

If you have not been on them, they are some fantastic canoe trips. The scenery is as pretty as I have ever seen on a river, and the fishing is normally good too.

If I were going to plan a trip for some guys, I'd take the first day on the Wacissa, camping at the end of the trip. Then, the second day would be split between the Aucilla and the Wakulla rivers.

I know all the ramps if anyone wants to float these rivers and catch some fish. Of course, the fishing is better in the spring and summers than now.

I was so busy fishing and enjoying the scenery... i forgot to take any pictures. Maybe later this month.

Very pretty rivers. I camped out of goose pasture and paddled up there a couple of months ago. The Aucilla was to low up around Lamont so we just went back and put in down at 98 and tried to do the slave canal backwards.

The Aucilla was at a perfect level last Thursday.

The Wacissa has plenty of grass in it, but we had no problems, and plenty of places for 10-million bass to hide.
