American Tofu (Ground Turkey) Chilie.

Nothing is going on today and the weather has cooled down to an unmanageable 75 degrees so it is time for something spicy for supper. With some luck there will be some left over for supper tomorrow evening.

So this has me making some American ,Original Tofu , (ground turkey) Chile...

I start with.......

1.... Two cans of light red kidney beans, well drained and then thrown uncermosley into a big pot.

2.....Two cans of DelMonte Stewed tomatoes (Original Recipe) with Onions, celery & Green peppers. Just toss them in the pot with the kidney beans after you open the cans of the tomatoes.

3..... One BIG onion is then diced up and tossed in with the rest of the victims

4..... Add some water to cover everything, now add some salt & Pepper. OK... Locate the McCormick Chipote Chile Pepper, add a couple (Or More) good shakes of it. Dig out the Dat'l Do It

5..... Let all of this bubble on the stove for a while.

6..... Get a large skillet and dump in some olive oil...... Now add a couple pounds of the American Tofu (Ground Turkey) cook it down and when it is almost done or after it is done, drain off the grease and add it to the pot.
NOT , THE GREASE the COOKED TURKEY. :roll:

7..... Mix all of this together and let it simmer for several hours or till supper time, cooks decision on that.

8..... Just before supper .... Cook up some Mullers Macaroni, about two cups of the stuff when it is 3/4 of the way cooked to the pot and let it sit for about 10 minutes (it will soak up a lot of the broth and you might have to add ..... Yuck ... Water)

9..... Now get a big spoon (the bigger the better) and spoon a bowl full for your enjoyment.

10.... A little shredded sharp Cheddar cheese over the top does not hurt anything.

Grab a fork and enjoy a bowl of American Tofu Chili , Yep it is thick and some sort of good.
HINT.... If you use ground beef and follow this recipie then add a 16 oz can of beer to everything when it is together and cooking.... The beer gets rid of the fat , unlike when we just drink it. You (The cook) gets to have the other 5 cans.:roll:
