Chapter 1
Gwine Cross Itawamba

Jest before the sun come peekin’ out ta see what wuz gwine on, Miz Bear ‘n me set off down the path ‘n headed out fer Caroliney pullin’ right smart boats ‘n a heap a specialized expedishin stuff. We drove ‘n drove ‘n drove ‘n then we drove some more. Miz Bear kinda peculiar bout road music so I shoved in some easy tunes.....like them Yanny folk.......cept you kin tell where one song ends ‘n the next one gits ta goin’.

Warnt long before we had ta stop cuz a special expedishin bolt on the trailer come loose. Teknickle expedishinizin’ stuff aint easy fer reglar folk ta figger out, so I aint gwine ta tell ya’ll bout it. Caint recollect how many times I had ta stop. Aint gwine ta tell how many times I sez some words little pardners aint supposed ta hear.

Bye ‘n bye we come upon the Tammy Whinette highroad that runs clean cross Itawamba County where she wuz reared up. Folk sez Tammy done a heap a stuff ya caint tell the little pardners, but that warnt the reason fer namin’ the highroad fer her....‘er mebbe it wuz?

Ever time me ‘n Miz Bear ride cross Itawamba County we see the men folk standin’ round tellin’ the women folk what ta do with a shovel, hoe, kaiser blade, wheel barrow, ‘n such az that. “Stand By Yer Manâ€Â
