couple launch photos

Here are a couple launch photos of the Chemaunis taken last month. I have more photos to add to my webpage, but I have been too busy to work on it. The Chemaunis is relatively fast for a 12' canoe. Tracking is decent for the amount of rocker and it will turn on a dime with an extended paddle stroke. The final weight is 37.5 lbs.

One of these days I'm gonna build a canoe or kayak that shows off the wood like that. For now, I paint. :roll:

I keep looking at this kind and wondering if they could be done with wider strips and no internal ribs. Just cold-molded planks in alternating directions.

Thanks guys. I don't know anything about the cold molded canoes. I think they are made over a male plug. At least the canvas ones with ribs are.

Yep. Made over a male mold. But it doesn't have to be a "solid" mold.
