I'm hoping to start on the Parogue 500 here real soon, I'm wonder what resin to use polyester or epoxy? what oz fabric to use for the hull??? Cost is an issue, but I do not want to go cheap and be sorry, this is my first time building a boat but not the first time I've worked with fiberglass or wood.

The difference in cost is less and less these days. In my neck of the woods, I pay an extra $15 per gallon or so for epoxy of poly. That's an easy call for the difference in ease of use, strength, and longevity for me. - maybe $30 difference on a canoe. I'll pay it.

That is realy a fact .when I started building boats a couple years ago there was a wide spread in prices.
Now 37 dollars a gallon for poly 3 gallons=111.00 dollars
US composites three gallons for 120.00 dollars.
