Finally finished my second pirogue, made just the way I wanted. I can't wait to get her in the water!!!! I'm caring for my mother who recently was in a car accident (she'll be ok) so I have to be patient for another week or two!

Thanks again to all you folks who gave me suggections on design. She measures out at about 15 1/2'. I reduced the rocker a bit and also made her a little wider then my first boat. She should be perfect for two paddlers now. And since I've lost about 40 pounds recently, I should have room for gear.

For those who know SC, I'll soon be headed down to Sparkleberry swamp, for a bit of R&R and all the sweet black water I can handle.

By the way, the other boat is a Jonboat I made after my first pirogue....... I guess we all backslide from time to time.

Happy Paddlin'!

Making one has a habit of having a person think about making another one. It is a vicious cycle but a person does end up with some good boats to have fun with.

I like the way you did the bow and stern pieces , never have seen that done , but makes good sense.

dNice pirogue..and nice looking Jon Boat. Where did you get the jon boat plans? wouldn't ever build one of course........never have one of them things in my yard.........Jack and Yakker , well, they'd have me for breakfast if I ever built one of those square, heavy fishing machines......no......I won't do that........but, I'd sure like to just look at the plans for a while......maybe I have some scrap around I could add to a little and come up with one, not to really use of course, just for the fun of building it......ya........so where'd you get the plans? If you mentioned it then I forgot......so, just remind me, OK? Thanks, Piper

Jonsboat

:D
I started with the Jonsboat plans, but like everything else, I couldn't leave well enough alone. I had to pinch in the nose a bit and fiddle with the details. Nice boat for a boat you can't paddle!

Hey I like to eat fish, and I still prefer my pirogue. Helps me sneak up on the big ones!

Thanks Guys,
Duffy
