sprinkle beams of dancing light
to chase the gray of cloudy days
or calm a stormy night.
Like flowers on a hillside
share their glory as a gift,
a caring moment glows
when there's a spirit we can lift.
Sincerity of thought
begins our path of good intent;
a gentle touch of love
can strengthen souls so worn and bent.
Perhaps a quiet deed's performed
and words remain unspoken
as helping hands repair the stairs
adversity has broken.
We share unknown perils
on this journey through the years;
our greatest act of kindness
is to wipe another's tears.
And often there's a gift returned -
the unexpected part:

snuggle joy against our hearts!
