Kayak surfing is an exciting and challenging watersport that combines elements of traditional surfing with the use of a kayak. It involves riding ocean waves and using the kayak to perform maneuvers, similar to how surfers ride surfboards. Here's an overview of kayak surfing:
Equipment:
Kayak: Specialized kayaks, known as "surf kayaks" or "whitewater kayaks," are typically used for kayak surfing. These kayaks are designed for maneuverability and stability in the dynamic environment of ocean waves.
Paddle: You'll need a kayak paddle suitable for your kayak and your level of skill. A whitewater paddle or surf-specific paddle is often used because they are shorter and more durable.
Kayak surfing can be an exhilarating and rewarding watersport, but it requires skill, practice, and a good understanding of ocean dynamics. If you're new to buy kayak surfing, consider seeking instruction and gaining experience in smaller surf before tackling more challenging waves. Always prioritize safety and environmental conservation when enjoying this sport.

Wouldn't a white water kayer when using the same kayak for surf kayaking find it rather boring. The surf around here is basically weak and unlike those giant waves in other places. Quite a while back ( the middle 1960's ) an fishermen used a Solo Folbot to go offshore ( Cocoa area ) to shark fish and then ride the waves back in at the end of the day.
Folbot is out of business and has been for a long time.
