(SNIP) Everywhere we went, Gerry had to visit the restrooms and enjoy the porcelain facilities. I guess a boom-box just isn’t that satisfying for Bay City Boys.
As an inspector I have been told many times that I was full. This just reinforces the notion.
Actually, Ger, I think any symptoms of such a condition got well taken care of on this trip. You now have a "clean" bill of health.

Of course, we'll never be able to show our faces (or feces) in THAT town again.

The nice thing about paddling down in the South ...... anyone can say the name of the river.. :D ...This makes it just as easy to paddle and to enjoy as telling anyone about it.

Jack can you say ........Econlockhatchee ..... I will give you a hint .... You are wrong.

There are some vowels in there that are just understood and not written when talking in the Seminole language.

It does translate to........ The river of many mounds , in there language.
Chuck.

Well, I knew the suthrin rivers had to have SOME socially redeeming feature. It certainly more than makes up for mud, snakes, pigs, gators, ants, quicksand, wild cattle, humidity, ticks, leeches, mosquitoes, and mites.

I feel better already just saying Ekon-locka-hatchie

wow I'm underwhelmed

One day, we'll get you into rivers that carve granite.

SO , why would anyone want to paddle a river without all of the things you have listed ..... A body might just as well stay home and play in the bath tub with a toy canoe if all of those items are missing from a trip.

Darn it would be like paddling up Nawth or some boring place like that. No challenge...........

Chuck.

PS.... Fer a Yankee ya did a good job on the name of the river.... We just call it the Econ.

Gosh, all I can do is drool.... what a trip!
So now we have to listen to Al & Draino catch fish where fish don't live....?
This is gonna be a long winter....

Welcome Erich! You've made it through meeting Jack and the band of Bothers.....

We must have stoled your cool weather. Down in the 50s here at night! Very unusual this early. Oh well... take what comes I recon...

Jack and I have been tagged as the ones who give out bull to these others.... that I dare say is not true. Jack, being the ancient one and most identified with Jesse James, Colt Younger, Ceasar Agustus, and the Peking Man, has on occation drifted from the straight and narrow truth... while I on the other hand stay well on course. I would never think to lead my fellow paddlers astray......

One day I wish to tell you how I paddled the Buffalo River.....
But I recon I'd better do it first....

Yeah, Jack and I will keep an eye out for anyone who wanders from the realities of this world... and let ya know.... Jack's list is good for starters... but there's a heap more of them in the woods .....

Erich: Hey Erich. Very nice to see you on the forum. Sorry I didn't get to meet you on the island on Mijn lake. My camp was over the hill on the other side of the island and I didn't learn of your visit to our camp until after you had gone. Sure would have liked to talk boat making with you guys. How about that kayak that Bud built? Isn't it a peice of art? And, he still hadn't sanded the last coat of epoxy and started giving it the 4 or 5 coats of varnish he planned to apply. Sorry also that we didn't stop by and see your shop and canoes in progress as Bud and others planned to do. Once we got on the road we just kept going. I do have your business card and hope to be able to stop in early next spring. I'm in Florida right now suffering thru the heat but it is one of the things I have to endure to retain my marriage. The wife likes to get here early, but I will return to Michigan next week to enjoy the fall hunting and color. Each spring, when we return North we take an expedition to The American Sault--hit all the casinos-in the Eastern U.P. and and the upper portion of the lower peninsula. I usually wander around, explore things, while she punches button on the whirly red sevens and other machines of fascination. SSssooo if possible I will likely cross the border and visit your shop. I'll call first. I sometimes go that way to see the sights when I visit my neices and nephews that live in and around Berrys Bay and Petawawa. My sister lives in Waterloo so we go there after the visits to her kids. The point is we get up that way often enough that chances are I will be able to stop in and swap stories about our mutual interest, building strippers. I think a group I belong to is scheduled to hold our semi-annual meeting at the Watertower Inn sometime in August . If I don't make it in the spring , probably will in August. Do you guys get to the States very often. If you do please consider joining some of us on one of our canoe trips. Won't be quite like Mijin but we got some beautiful areas we enjoy when we can. Later Erich. Al Dasen-(sometimes called Michstripcanoe,or Dapper Al) just so they don' call me late for a meal.

Yep it cooled down here also.... Mid 60's this morning and I was thinking about a fire in the ole fireplace fire to warm up and we do have a lot of firewood thanks to the tree trimming crew of Charlie, Francis and Jeanne.

This is some good camping weather and all it should do is get better, especially for next month. :D

I know where the cool weather came from ... Al is down here, my guess is that he brought it with him. You know Al he is always doing something nice and just felt sorry for us southern boys and all of the heat we have been having.

Chuck.

Jack, somehow I just don't think he accidently mispelled "Brothers".

Yer right, Ger. At least he didn't misspell "Band" and make us into "Bland". I'da had ta tell him, "Kiss my GRITZ!"

Neither did he misspell "Bothers" into "Bathers".

etc. etc.
