Left over Ham.......Or anything else.

After the New Year we make all sorts of stuff from the Ham and the same with Christmas and the Turkey.

This case it is Ham.........

I enjoy a Ham casserole and have as a kid when Mom would make it.

Take what ever amount of ham you want and dice it up.
Do the same with a good sized onion
Take two backing taters , peal them and slice them in uniform pieces.

Now the fun starts.......

With a casserole dish , grease it and when done use paper towels to wipe your hands with , not on your slacks.
OK. Put in a layer of the sliced potatoes ....... When that layer is in there drop in some of the diced onion on top of it .... Now the diced up Ham then a layer of the Taters. Repeat this process till the casserole is about an half inch from the top.

You are almost to the last step but a short one to go..... Fill the casserole with milk so it comes up to the top of what you have , not covering it just up even with it.
Locate some real butter and cover each slice of exposed potato with it , one thin pat on each one. Sprinkle on some salt and pepper and bake in the oven for about an hour or till the potatoes are done.

It is a smart thing if you put the casserole on a pan wider then it is since the milk will bubble and overflow as it cooks. Unless you enjoy cleaning an oven.
