If you are cutting your own wood then use the sawdust as the wood flour. It needs to be sifted to remove any large chunks and the finer you get it the better.
I like to collect the dust from sanding that is trapped in the bag on the sander. It will be a shade darker when mixed with the wood flour but some of the glass bubbles mixed in with it will mute it down.
