I forwarded this to a buddy in northern Ohio. He, and other enthusiasts there, have model train tracks all around outside their homes, with little "theme lands" along the way. trains start and stop automatically as they simultaneously approach crossings. Trains back up and park themselves, toot whistles, milk maids wave to passing trains, horses whinny, etc.
The only difference between men and boys, is the size of their girls and price of their toys. (Or, was it the price of their girls and size of their toys?)
