I really need some pointers on how to paint pirogues. i usually just paint regular exterior latex but when its on top of the fiberglass resin it chips extremely easy, so then i started putting resin on top of the paint and that helped it not to chip but i left it with this ugly, rough, shine that i hate. Is there a certain type of paint i can use?

I havent had trouble with mine chipping are peeling and it is over poly. I have run beside graphite epoxy bottomed boats and it seems to wear close to the same.
I use my boats rough so if it stands up to me it should really do a good job.

Im in Laplace Louisiana. Do you think that home depot or Ace hardware might have it, because those are right by my house.

how much does it cost, because the marine paint is 30 dollars for 2 quarts, and the sealer is 20 bucks a quart
