Here's a handy accessory for your pirogue, especially if you use the double paddle. It's an adjustable, removable foot brace. It's held in by friction and adjusted by moving it higher and forward or lower and back. Mine has about a 5" range of adjustment and works well for me.

Makes using the double paddle SO much easier.

Funbun, it's adhesive backed craft foam from WalMart. I beveled the ends to fit at a comfortable angle. Just kind of cut and fit until it was right. Very handy, and you can pop it out when you walk to the front or just step over it.

I like the olde English spelling there, Jack. Lends a certain class to the term, don't cha think?

Thanks, Mick. When I have little things bother me, I HAVE to find a solution. I fume at work when there is equipment or procedures that don't work and people do a slap-dash fix that solves the problem TODAY , only to have to deal with the same thing tomorrow and the next day. :x :x Fix the bloody thing right and be done with it! ( OK, end of rant.)
