It was well worth the work. Surprisingly, the boat was in good shape for being 15+ and stored in the weather. It's a marine plywood job, and the wood is beautiful with the gloss coat.
Yeah, I was just copying a style that I have fished out of before. It works really well in most situations and it's relatively easy to control in the wind. The newer one is more stable than the reno; however, the older one is much lighter. I aim to build one just as light or lighter than the renovated one.
I did build a second one with flared sides and a little rocker. It ended up at my bro-in-law's before I could ever ride in her . Oh well, he says she's a great boat. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7707
