Here are some pics (piccies) of a really short pirogue I built a while back.....it takes hot, boiled Crawfish on their last ride out to the diners in a local restaurant.

In this part of Lousiana, during crawfish season, it holds about one serving!

I did the same thing a while back................

The Lady that requested it wanted a Pirogue to use at there crawfish cook & eat in to give the party a flare of Louisiana or the Cajun touch.

Here is the catch.............It had to be 4 feet long and will be filled with a bunch of Dark Red Cooked Crawdads as the centerpiece at the eat in.

It was exactly 4 feet from the bow to the stern and is 5 inches high. It was made out of 1/8th inch door skin, epoxyed together by the stitch and glue method then sanded with several coats of epoxy, sanding between each coat. The side rails are screen door trim, epoxyed to the sides.
The pirogue was finished in natural wood tones and is a light blond in color.

Not sure of the weight but it is light, Really , Really Light (a pound or two) , easy to transport, car topping is not necessary and NO ...... I did not have the pleasure of paddling it.
