Colleton State Park on the Edisto River

We like staying at the Colleton State Park just north of Walterboro, SC. It's a very small park but in the winter isn't very busy and very congenial to it's guest. It is located on the Edisto River and is some of the nicest blackwater paddling in the area. Do be warned that it is next door to a power plant and the conveyors run day and night but after a few hours of being there the noise washes out. There is an outfitter right across the river but I haven't had too good of an experience with them but the ramp next to them is public and free.....

We had a little better luck with that Outfitter last year....We did like that little State Park.

As you can see Franke...we keep up a most rigorous schedule ourselves when we paddle and camp. Chuck is a slave driver! :lol:
