Seat location

I am building one of Matts 14-29 Pirogue's and want install fore and aft decks for storage. What will the approx. seat location be. If it helps I weigh about 220.

Ideal is with your hips about 6-12" aft of centerline. But paddle it while sitting on some books or a pad first before installing anything permanent.

I'll send you a sketch of shape of the bulkheads. How long will your deck be?

put your seats about 60 inches from the ends to the inside of the seats and you can adjust with ice chest or whatever. have a nice day, later keith

the front deck will end 12 inches behind the front rib and the rear deck will end at the rear rib.
