I have access to a lot of hardwood flooring that I could cut-down and glue together to make the boards that would be needed
Hmmmmm????????
The boats are nothing more then some wood , epoxy and fiberglass , what makes then is the imagination of the person making it and how they want to do it.
Nothing says you have to have the same wood in the boat , the one I am making right now has Oak , Pine , Cypress , Maple and Red Wood in it.
I have found that with most folks starting out when building a wood boat. It is best to follow the instructions or ask questions about what is going on with the next step. Then when that boat is done the imagination kicks in and the What If's pop up and before you know it another boat is in the process of being made.
A lot of us on here made the 1st one following the instructions on how to do it , then we decided ...What If I do this .... we did it and have another one to use. It ain't rocket science it is just wood , epoxy and a coating of fiberglass. If you have the hardwood flooring to use ... you are one step ahead of most of us that have to purchase the wood.
With some luck the guys who have made some strippers will post the links on here so you can see what can be done.
