Which comes first, Epoxy saturation or filets for the seams

I hope to attach rails and put the bottom on this weekend. After that, do I cover the entire boat in a coat of epoxy and then do the epoxy/wood flour filets or do I filet first then epoxy.

Also, should I epoxy the inside first or the outside?

Any input appreciated.

Right now, with re-doing a couple of scarf joints :( , she has shrunk down to 12' 8" in length. With 4 ribs she is 26" across the bottom and 31.5" across the top. I hope that despite the fairly short length, the width will make her fairly stable.

Thanks,

Mudd

Do the epoxy saturation a couple of inches along the seams , this gives the fillet something to bond with. It also makes it easy to pull the masking tape if you want to use it on each side of the seam for a crisp edge on the fillet.

Without the epoxy saturation , when you pull the tape there is a good chance you would pull some wood along with it.

The rest of the boat does not need to be saturated at this time , do that before you fiberglass it.
