    Day on the Wekiva

We put in at King's Landing. We have an exchange student so we're starting at basic canoing, plus this way we could show her Wekiva spring further upstream. So, without further ado, our first canoe trip since...since last year. Like October or November. Oh hey, I...

    well the canoe is up

I knitted a couple of slings (out of rope from Lowes) and now the canoe is up and out of the way in the new garage. The sky is weird here. It's so...big. I thought it was scary big when we were on Lake Jesup, it looks like you could just fall up. It's all of Oviedo, not just the lake. I...

    Canoe slings

I had a bunch of messages saved with at least one picture and Javier said he knew all about them. Now that I want him to slap them together real quick, he's got no idea what I'm talking about. Sigh. Right now, the canoe is resting on 2 saw horses. Someone had some pvc and strapping sort of...

How important is the varnish coat?

Since it just isn't raining, we keep taking the canoe out instead of sanding it down and varnishing it. How long can we go before the sunlight makes the epoxy all brittle?

    Lake Jessup-just looking

Drove over to Lake Jessup park just to see. Not a bad location to put in, didn't see a single gator.

    Ground Meat Jerky

We learned about making jerky out of ground meat after a trip to Bass Pro Shop. Had no idea you could do that, even bought a kit: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog. ... rchResults BUT you don't need the kit. Spice it, roll it out between 2 sheets of wax paper, cut into strips and dry...

    Mullet Lake Area-Javier's Wife

If you look at a map of Mullet Lake, you'll see that there's a LOT of exploring to do all around there. http://www.google.com/maphp?hl=en&tab=w ... FL%2032732 We toured the lake, ate some granola bars (I just made some lemon bars that I think are my best so far. Ya'll got granola bar recipes...
