    fishing in southwest Lake Verret

Nice pics and fish. Nothing wrong with spincasting, I bought some underspin reesl for the kids and occasionally find myself using them instead of my "grown up" spinning reel. Takes you back and keeps it simple, heck sometimes I even use their Roostertails. Back on track not wanting to hijack...

    how much glass?

I ordered my stuff from Raka and Larry was extremely helpful. I just told him the dimensions of my boat and he suggested everything I would need. I haven't finished yet but looks like he was spot on - I'm glad one of us (him) knew what they were doing.

Jimmy thank you. I have a Hyde paint scraper with a carbon steel blade - is that it? BTW, what part of N Ga, I used to do alot of backpacking, camping and trout fishing in N Ga.

    Short glassed my boat???

Frayed edges? I also have some frayed edges. I have read now that some of the best ways to get rid of em are to not make them or take a razor and cut a neat line and pull off - too late for me on both counts. Will the additional coats of expoxy fill them and make them less visible (like the...

    Short glassed my boat???

As I dug around for more info I discovered that (as you said) it is recommended to leave gunwale area unglassed anyway and epxoy them to wood instead of glass. Guess I should have known that too but I missed until now. Actually instead of worrying about the area I missed, I went out and cut a...

    Short glassed my boat???

When I cut and draped the cloth over my boat it had about 3" extra all the way around. After I pulled it back to expoxy and then glassed I have a few sections where the fiberglass is about 2" shy of covering the hull. I guess the recommendation is to piece that area as opposed to leaving...

Okay, back to fishing pics, well not exactly fishing pics but this is how I get to the place that gets me to the fishing action... My "friends" laugh and call this a coffin but works great to throw in my rods, PFD, paddles, and other stuff to get to the river. Sorry bout the plastic yak but...

Chuck I've made shrimp and grits but not too sure about fish and grits? May work, I sure like both. I hope I aint kicked out of the club this soon though but I do have to admit to eating oatmeal a couple of times per week - no cream of wheat though - no way, no how! On the flip side, most...

Bring on the fishing action pics...

Nice pics, I like the removable crossbar... and the paddle... and the boats. I may try one of the crossbars, I was also thinking of building a small narrow pod (6"x18"x4") about 8-12" in front of the seat, between my knees. Part closest to seat would have a beverage holder. Center part would...

Bring on the fishing action pics...

I am working on a touring pirogue and will use it 100% as a solo fishing craft for usually slow, and mostly shallow creeks. Will be posting build log on Jem as I go. I can post here too but appears most folks bounce betrween sites. Please post more pics here of home-built boats rigged and in...
